Zeer goed gebracht! Natuurlijk zal men zeggen dat de nadruk te veel op de petite histoire ligt en niet genoeg op de wandaden waarvoor hij mede verantwoordelijk was. Maar het schetst tegelijk heel goed de historische context in de rest van Europa. Met zo’n verteller wordt geschiedenis levend.
