日本の暮らしには、季節の移り変わりを示す二十四節気をはじめとしていくつもの節目があります。人はそれを何かの区切りとし、年度や月が改まる節目を心機一転の機会として、ともすればややも大げさに捉えたりします。見方をかえれば昨日の続きにすぎないのですが…１月１日の元日はその最たるもの。夏目漱石にとって、その節目はさほど心地よいものではなかったようです。
小説「野菊の墓」で知られる伊藤佐千夫は、墨東低地帯で搾乳業を営む傍ら創作に取り組みました。小説や短歌に加えて墨田区を舞台とした写生文も残しています。その間に子供4人を幼くして亡くし、度々、水害に遭うなどの不幸に見舞われます。これはその水害を前にして、訪れる災いの予感を感じる様子を写し取った作品です。
忠臣蔵四十七士で唯一生き残った寺坂吉右衛門。後世様々な研究解釈がなされていますが、直木三十五はこのように見立てています。主君の無念を果たす討ち入りは、武士の本懐ともいえる名誉ある行いです。選ばれて参加するには、それ相応の身分でなければいけません。ところが寺坂はその身分にありませんでした。
承認欲求を満たすためにSNSに投稿する人が少なくないと言われます。時代をさかのぼると、新聞の「人生案内」や「身の上相談」の欄が同じような役割をしていたようです。坂口安吾が自分の書いたものが新聞に掲載され、多くの人に読まれる気持ち良さに憑りつかれた男について書いた短編です。

あと何気に録音レベルが大きいのも嬉しい。他の朗読番組も聴いたことありますが、凄く静かな環境下でしか聴こえないので残念に思った事があるので。
