La zia francese mi racconta di come i miei bisnonni erano emigrati dal Piemonte al Cile, e di come poi i loro figli avevano riattraversato l’oceano per venire in Europa, proprio all’alba della Prima guerra mondiale.
In alcune foto appare evidente la cicatrice sul volto del nonno, probabile conseguenza di una coltellata. Un’anziana zia francese che non conoscevo mi scrive per dirmi che mi vuole incontrare.
Insieme a mia sorella e allo zio Baku, vado in Grecia per disperdere in mare le ceneri dei miei genitori. Baku mi descrive una terribile cicatrice sul volto di mio nonno, della quale non mi ero mai accorto.

Le musiche, il tono, l’onestà di raccontare dinamiche familiari conosciute e misteriose sono semplicemente elementi straordinari.
