Great retrospectives and reviews of albums while also analyzing the peculiarities of Pitchfork and the music criticism scene of the time in general. Also got me into Tori Amos.
I think this is a super intriguing premise for a podcast but I was hoping you would be examining pitchfork and it’s biases and position within culture, and how it’s been outpaced now as a tastemaker.
…I don’t get doing actual reviews of the album, let alone 2hr track-by-track ones with reviews like “definition of mid” and “depression vibes” … this is no longer about investigating the farce of ‘objective music review scores’ and more just litigating the actual score, frankly very unconvincing... more
