2016年時，很多阿美族老師開始關心阿美族文化能不能透過學校傳承，當時一群老師開始討論與想像，如果有一個阿美族學校，會是什麼樣子？這些老師來自各級學校，甚至具備主任與校長的資歷。老師們認為阿美族學校的理念和架構，是很有前瞻性的原住民族學校，在這樣的教育方式，孩子們才能夠長出阿美族的樣子。

見晴國小位在花蓮縣萬榮鄉，主要的族群是太魯閣族，這也是夢想發原地第一次踏進太魯閣族的校園。學校早在民國94年展開民族課程，當時校內有許多太魯閣族的老師，大家決定要發展以太魯閣族文化的本位課程，直至今日仍然持續調整與發展，近期也加入了古白楊尋根的課程，讓學生了解部落的由來。
