I've been a big fan of Dr. Thorpe and Kairoticast since the beginning, but the episode on Roe spurred this review. I was disgusted, but not surprised, by the lies of the conservative justices during their confirmation hearings. That being said, I was feeling a bit powerless and, frankly, numb, after the Roe decision draft leaked. This episode helped me regain my righteous rage. As someone who hasn’t take a rhetoric class since undergrad, but is super interested in understanding public dialogue, this podcast has been both helpful and engaging. Sometimes Dr. Thorpe gives us context or theory to help us make sense of general principles of democracy, other times she deconstructs a specific recent event.
