羅榮源建築師曾任臺中市建築師公會理事長，多年來也在逢甲大學建築系教授油畫。為了替課程訂出一個提綱，他選了「綠概念藝術」這個名字。在他的定義裡，「綠」不是環保口號，而是再生，是引用舊有的元素，重新賦予它時代性的概念。這樣的想法，後來也成為他與夫人謝碧芬老師攜手走了十多年的創作之路。
