As I have been pulled into the relational way of being in family and church I really appreciate Toni’s processing all kinds of things with us. I’m especially enjoying her conversations with her husband Matt. So good, thank you.
I've resonated so much with many of the personal examples she's shared. Teaching versus facilitating and how when our teaching goals get blocked, we usually unconsciously respond with anger. I've also connected with her unmet attachment needs and how those created rough patches in her connection with God.
This content is important, practical, raising awareness of paths to healing. You have to listen past the host laughing when a guest shares deep grief, talks about any difficult situation in our world. Her laughter does not come across as “Joy-Based” but as coming out of discomfort with the topic, not knowing how to stay with someone in the hard stuff.
