As far as news goes, often times in this day and age you get one or the other: radical, super far L/R conspiratorial, or the most mundane, milquetoast “everything’s fine.” With so little room for nuance in American discourse today, it is refreshing to hear John’s more level-headed assessments of situations. Now with that said, John and I don’t see eye-to-eye on every issue he discusses. But that’s just it — you don’t have to! The information is insightful, his assessments and opinions grounded, ... more
I absolutely love listening to John as his stories are always entertaining, interesting and informative.
John is the best. I highly recommend.
I greatly appreciate your balanced approach to sharing your insights into political and world news.
Interesting insights from a former CIA operative that lost his job for exposing illegal activity. So what he says in this podcast offers a fresh perspective on current politics.
I am really loving John’s podcast. He is an exceptional story-teller and explains even the most complex topics with a focus on simplicity and easily digestible facts and detail. Great job John!
John is unironically one of the only sources of news I trust
Arguably the best podcast at the moment, one small important needed : better audio.
Honest and very interesting.
Whether you agree with him on a topic or disagree, John’s words aren’t ones to dismiss.
The more you learn about John, the more closely you’ll want to listen.
This show and John provide a unique perspective on how to deliver the news and gives insight to how the world works that the everyday news watcher and listener doesn’t typically see and/or hear.
Now with that being said, you may not agree with everything that John says but that’s a good thing.
Great show and love John’s perspective. Could you talk about what the CIA lawyers do and the role they play in the agency (preferably without getting yourself in trouble)?
Thank you John, I am a Canadian. I really enjoy a perspective of the US/Middle East/Israel politics from a knowledgeable person instead of just relying on the tv news.
As you asked for suggestions, I would love to listen To a history of US/Iran relationship from time when US supported the Shah of Iran to where we are now. Another podcast idea, the history of Israel since 1945.
Well informed, balanced and entertaining. Just be careful John. I know you are seeking a pardon, but please do not turn a blind eye, or minimize criticism from the insanity that has infused our executive branch. Thank you for all you do.
This guy has incredible courage and very knowledgeable. It’s nice to see a person with common sense because of facts and life experiences

The show offers fact-driven geopolitical analysis and commentary from a former CIA officer with a blunt, take-no-prisoners style. Episodes frequently tackle U.S. foreign policy, Middle East tensions, intelligence-community history, and how political narratives shape public understanding. Interwoven with the analysis are personal anecdotes and sponsor reads for data privacy services, tactical gear, and investment topics, which gives the program a pragmatic, information-forward feel for listeners who want context-rich, critical perspectives on current events and policy debates. A notable throughline across episodes is a skepticism toward official messaging and a willingness to reassess mainstream narratives in light of historical context and ... more
