植松明石（1923-2017）是戰後日本頗有代表性的女性人類學家，出生於靜岡縣沼津市，畢業於慶應義塾大學文學部史學系，長期任教於跡見學園女子大學，並於1999年創立「民俗文化研究所」及出版期刊。植松曾獲頒日本政府「勳四等寶冠章」，並成為日本民俗學會名譽會員。她的研究以細膩觀察見長，被評價為能寫出充滿「人間氣息」文章的學者。

橋本萬太郎橋本萬太郎（1932-1987）是日本戰後第一代語言學家，也是現代漢語語言學與客家方言研究的領航者。他畢業於東京大學中國文學科，隨後赴美深造，獲博士學位。
他將理論架構與文獻及田野傳統結合，在語言學術界之間架起了橋樑。不僅是首位明確指認客語特徵的學者，所提出「語言地理類型學」與「波浪理論」，是引人注目的漢語演變模式。

推動在地與客家文化保存，著有《苗栗史蹟巡禮》、《苗栗山水記事》、《苗栗開拓史話》等，民國98（2009）年獲頒客家貢獻獎傑出成就獎文史類。
