French that speaks to you.
Salut, c'est Hugo! I created this podcast in 2017 when I was teaching at the French institute in Warsaw, Poland. My goal was to show my students that they could learn French naturally simply by listening to it. 30 million downloads later, I think we're onto something!
Granted, it's not a magic bullet. This method still requires hundreds of hours of practice. That's why... more

I finished Alice Ayel’s Adult Stage, and found the content fairly boring. Plus I felt that I had enough French knowledge that I didn’t need video any more.
This podcast is just the right level, and because it’s a podcast I can listen while doing other things.
I start my day by reading and re-listening to the podcast from the day before. I look up new words, or ask Gemini to explain confusing constructions. Then later in the day I listen to the previous day’s podcast for the 3rd time, paying a... more
I started listening to these podcasts one month ago after moving to intermediate French on Babbel. Unfortunately Babbel doesn’t help me move from French B1 to B2 particularly well, so I had to find other resources. This podcast does just that; it helps me understand spoken French quickly, I pick up new words with each podcast, and the transcript helps to confirm my understanding. The podcast themes are interesting and keep me focused.
Thanks so much for this huge and super helpful resource! I started listening a few months back accepting that plain exposure to the language would somehow be helpful (early A1 equivalent). Now 45 episodes in, plus study outside (mainly Duolingo), and I can happily follow 80-90% of most episodes - and they are really interesting. If only my speaking and writing were equivalent… Thanks again for taking the time to produce such a quality resource for language learners!
This is the best intermediate French podcasts I’ve found! Most are FAR too easy (greetings, vocabulary like “je m’appelle”) or FAR too difficult (like the news). I’m grateful to have found this.
I started listening to the podcasts about a month ago, at first I thought that I would never follow them, but being able to read the transcript is so helpful. Really enjoying the varied topics which is greatly improving my vocabulary and understanding of French culture and life.

The show targets French learners by pairing clear, natural speech with accessible topics, often accompanied by transcripts. Episodes blend language-focused tips with cultural, political, and social subjects, creating a steady progression in complexity. Listeners appreciate slower, understandable delivery, practical correction, and a wide range of topics that spark conversation at dinner tables or study sessions. A notable strength is the transcript availability and a conversational duo that expands beyond beginner content into deeper cultural and current affairs discussion, making it useful for learners who want both language practice and genuine cultural insight.
