French that speaks to you.
Salut, c'est Hugo! I created this podcast in 2017 when I was teaching at the French institute in Warsaw, Poland. My goal was to show my students that they could learn French naturally simply by listening to it. 30 million downloads later, I think we're onto something!
Granted, it's not a magic bullet. This method still requires hundreds of hours of practice. That's why... more

This is the first podcast I’ve found that I truly consistently enjoy for French listening comprehension. Started listening at A2 (after a year of learning) and I feel challenged while also getting a confidence boost. Surprised by how much I could follow right away. Hugo speaks at just the right pace—slow enough to follow but fast enough to feel like natural speech. And the topics/content are actually interesting. Hugo is a great French teacher!
J’écoute a ce podcast quand je couds et c’est toujours un plaisir. Hugo et Ingrid parlent de beaucoup de choses et c’est intéressant d’apprendre le Français avec eux.
***PLEASE READ THIS HUGO*** Hello Hugo! I’m a new French learner, and I love this podcast! I just have 1 recommendation, I believe there is a setting for making your podcasts episodic, so the oldest or first episode is the first one that pops up! I’m tired of scrolling for hours. Please add this.
I’m signed up for Immersion classes in France in May and using these podcasts to prep. Learning language has never been so entertaining. Thank you, thank you
I really appreciate this podcast! After having let my French slide for decades, this is a great re-entry and I find the subjects genuinely interesting!
