  • Entertaining but stick to hockey

The boys are great to listen to when they’re talking hockey and Dave’s morning papers on social media is a must in my daily routine. My issue, too many personal opinions on politics and jabs at people or things they may not believe in. Everybody’s entitled to their own opinion but if I wanted opinion on politics I’d tune into literally any mainstream media news outlet. This isn’t about the left, right or center. I came to IC to hear about hockey not personal opinions on politics and to hear jab... more

Still love IC for the awesome sports content and fun "off the rails" content that Drew, Dave and Ezzy provide post Jets games and once a week on Saturday mornings during NHL regular season. Keep up the great work, guys! Lovely to meet all of you at Fan Fest in person too!

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Shane Malloy talks 2026 NHL Draft and potential options for the Winnipeg Jets at 8th overall
Q: What stands out about Ryan Lin and why might he be in the Jets' range at eight?
Lin has strong defensive instincts, mobility, and puck management, with potential to be a second-pairing defenseman who can quarterback a power play, particularly if he continues to develop in Denver against tougher competition and matures physically and mentally.
Shane Malloy talks 2026 NHL Draft and potential options for the Winnipeg Jets at 8th overall
Q: And you've got Albert Smiths ranked ninth overall on your rankings. Do you think he is NHL-ready and would the Jets consider him at eight?
Smiths is viewed as one of the closest to ready among defensemen, especially for a win-now team, but Malloy urges caution with 18-year-olds in the NHL and emphasizes development in the right environment to avoid premature exposure that could stall growth.
Shane Malloy talks 2026 NHL Draft and potential options for the Winnipeg Jets at 8th overall
Q: I mean, obviously we know the size limitations but it seems like this player doesn't care about his size. What can you tell us about Viggo Björck?
Björck plays with a chip on his shoulder, ignores his height, and uses relentless off-puck work and high pace to be a disruptive two-way contributor, making him a viable high-value option if he falls to eight overall due to his combativeness and playmaking potential.
Winnipeg Jets GM Kevin Cheveldayoff speaks ahead of 2026 NHL Draft
Q: Can you confirm, has he asked to be moved? Is that something that he's expressed to you?
The manager says there have been conversations and emphasizes that the team is under long-term contracts and will listen, but he does not confirm a move request, noting that conversations with players are private.
TSN’s Craig Button talks 2026 NHL Draft and some options for the Winnipeg Jets at 8th overall
Q: Could Alberts Šmits be the most ready to play in the NHL next year, and what are his key attributes?
Šmits is highlighted for his physical maturity, versatility, and experience at the World Championships, with strong skating, vision, and a bold, competitive game; he could be a strong candidate to contribute at the NHL level sooner rather than later.
