今回は、Disney+の「ソウルフル・ワールド」について。頭の中や感情の仕組みをアニメで解き明かした「インサイド・ヘッド」の監督が、遂に「生きるとは？」という壮大過ぎるほど壮大なテーマを、ささやかで温かなメッセージとともに届けてくれました。毎日、気づかないうちにたくさんのプレッシャーに囲まれて生きている私たちを優しく包み込んでくれるストーリーです。Pixarのクリエーターによるワークショップに参加した時に感じたことも合わせてお話しています。

2021年、最初の作品はNetflixオリジナル「ハーブ・オブ・イット: 面白いのはこれから」です。「ブックスマート」とも違う、「ザ・プロム」とも違うまた新しい表現によるアメリカの高校生たちの自分らしさを見つける成長物語。LGBTQも含めて、かなり今っぽいです。本当に今っぽさをうまく描けていると感じました。サクッと見れるのに、若い子たちの美しい成長を観れてあと味とてもいいです。

今回は、年末にNetflixで見た「ザ・プロム」について。予告を見た時は全く期待していなかったのですが、アメリカの今のLGBTQ問題をエンタメにうまく落とし込めているなと感じるストーリーでした。時に泣いて、時に踊りたくなる作品です。ミュージカルが大嫌いな方は難しいかもしれませんが、ひとりでサクッと見るのにもオススメですので、よかったらぜひ。

＼＼ネタバレあります／／ 年末最後に、2020年唯一夢中になって読んだミン・ジン・リーさん著作のアメリカベストセラー小説「パチンコ（上）」について。気づけば徹夜をして一気に上巻を読み終えてしまい、おうちに遊びに来ていたお姉ちゃんにストーリーを説明しながら録音しました。溢れる想いを全力で語っているので、テンションかなり高めです。戦争のことや日本と韓国の歴史について、しっかりと学べる壮大な素晴らしい作品だと感じています。とてもネタバレしちゃっておりますがので、良ければまずは本を読んでみてください。 ... more
