  • I’m leaning so much!

I just listened to ep 42: Somatic Energy Healing with Serena Reynell. I have studied body-stored stress and what havoc it can wreak on a person’s life. This conversation was such a great refresher on the various resources available to free that stress and live more at peace. Loved it!

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

The Guest Series, Ep 2: Fitness from the Inside Out with Celeste Harrington (Body Recomposition, Healthy Mindset, and Realistic Goals)
Q: How do you approach protein intake for clients starting from where they are?
She recommends meeting clients where they are, aiming for at least 100 grams of protein daily and gradually increasing, with practical tips like spreading protein around meals and using protein-dense foods like fish, eggs, and protein shakes to support muscle growth while avoiding overwhelm.
Postpartum Q&A: What's "Normal" During Recovery, Breastfeeding, Energy, Metabolism, Hormones, Gut Health + More
Q: How can I support my metabolism without stressing my body?
Avoid under-eating and overly aggressive dieting. Focus on adequate protein, balanced meals, steady blood sugar, gentle movement, and giving the body time to recover. This approach supports metabolism long-term while enabling breastfeeding.
Postpartum Q&A: What's "Normal" During Recovery, Breastfeeding, Energy, Metabolism, Hormones, Gut Health + More
Q: When might my period return postpartum and what affects it?
Return depends on how recently you gave birth, whether you're breastfeeding (which can delay ovulation), and overall recovery including gut health, thyroid function, and nutrient status. Consistency and absence of major PMS or symptoms help indicate balanced recovery.
Postpartum Q&A: What's "Normal" During Recovery, Breastfeeding, Energy, Metabolism, Hormones, Gut Health + More
Q: I'm breastfeeding and always tired. Is that normal?
Breastfeeding imposes high nutrient and energy demands. It's common to feel tired, but not ideal. Prioritize protein, iron, magnesium, zinc, and B vitamins, ensure adequate calories, and listen to hunger cues to support both you and the baby.
Postpartum Q&A: What's "Normal" During Recovery, Breastfeeding, Energy, Metabolism, Hormones, Gut Health + More
Q: Why do I feel wired but exhausted all the time?
This usually stems from chronic nervous system activation (high cortisol) coupled with sleep loss. Ways to soften it include nervous system regulation practices, regular breaks, and outdoor activity to calm the system while simplifying routines to reduce overwhelm.
