  • Predatory ad choices

Surprised that the ads on episode 292 (all about body image) were for a glp1 and Weight Watchers. Hard to believe any wisdom you share about body image when those ads are served right alongside it. How are we supposed to believe our bodies don’t have to look a certain way to deserve romantic love or good things from God (as you say on the episode) when you are giving airtime to companies that tell us we should be thinner? Dangerous mixed messages.

  • So needed

This is a great podcast. Kait and JJ are so genuine, funny and warm and bring these much needed conversations about Christian dating (which is COMPLICATED) to light. I have already learned so much from listening to their wisdom in the past few days and couldn’t recommend it more highly. Big respect and love ❤️

  • Hush Kait!

I can’t even listen because (1) Kait needs to calm down. She’s too hyper and neurotic. (2) She dominates the conversation. She’s self-promoting. She asks questions of the guest and then doesn’t give the space or respect to answer. Kait, please SHUT UP AND CALM THE F DOWN.

One word to describe this podcast? Insightful!

I’m so grateful I found it years ago when I was single, because it carried me through the challenges of that season and made me feel truly seen in the heartache that came with it. Now that I’m in a new season of dating, I still turn to this podcast often. There’s hardly a topic Kait and JJ haven’t covered, and I find myself relistening to episodes that speak to me in fresh ways now that I’m living them out. Kait and JJ, thank you for serving the bod... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

S17 Ep 292: Breaking the Cycle of Body Shame and Finding Confidence in Dating with Jordan Lee Dooley
Q: Why does external attractiveness feel so tied to our sense of being chosen or valued?
Because we often equate being chosen with value, and social cues from attractive people can hijack self-worth, but the discussion argues for redefining worth to align with identity in Christ rather than external validation.
S17 Ep291: Why You Keep Attracting Emotionally Unavailable People with Stefanie and Caleb Rouse
Q: What is emotional unavailability, and how do you define it from a coaching perspective?
Emotional unavailability shows up as inconsistency, avoidance of hard conversations, and a desire for closeness without taking on responsibility or commitment. It often masks deeper fear and a need for healing, and true readiness shows up through consistent actions over time.
S17 Ep290: Overcoming People Pleasing and Codependency in Dating and Relationships with Debra Fileta
Q: Would you say people pleasing is always a precursor to codependency?
People pleasing is the road to codependency; not every people pleaser is codependent, but many of the same traits are present.
S17 Ep290: Overcoming People Pleasing and Codependency in Dating and Relationships with Debra Fileta
Q: What are some of the steps that they can take to start breaking that cycle?
Start by identifying personal feelings and needs, and then examine belief systems that influence behavior, like fear of rejection.
S17 Ep290: Overcoming People Pleasing and Codependency in Dating and Relationships with Debra Fileta
Q: What's the difference between people pleasing and actually just genuinely trying to be accommodating, serve and love someone?
The difference lies in the underlying motivation; people pleasing is often selfishly motivated while genuine service is about the needs of others.
