Second, while listening to the fluid and electrolyte lecture, the male host stated that hypertonic fluids should never be given to patients with increased ICP—which is incorrect? You absolutely should be giving full percent D5 l, NC, etc to these patients in order to draw fluid from the cells and reduce edema.
