NATIONAL MACKEM DAY | Jeff Brown on Sunderland’s Summer & Sheepfolds
Q: What should people expect from the National Mackem Day shindig at Sheepfolds?
An evening of music, theater, stalls, and food and drink at a welcoming, free-entry event that celebrates Mackem culture and the Sunderland community around Sheepfolds.
MONDAY SUPPLEMENT | Phil Smith on SAFC 2-1 Rennes, Transfers & More
Q: What stood out from the Rennes game according to the panel?
The second-half performance was particularly lively, with multiple chances created and a sense that Sunderland could have scored five or six more, signaling a positive trajectory heading into the season.
OPPO PREVIEW | We Catch Up On All The Latest At Portman Road With Brenner Woolley!
Q: What was the general reaction to the appointment of the new manager at Ipswich Town?
Reaction was mixed with some fans hopeful and others skeptical; the discussion highlights that Gary O'Neill's CV at Bournemouth and his relatively short Stratford tenure were weighed against Ipswich's ambitious plans and investment.
HAWAY THE Q&A | Promoted Clubs, Membership Schemes & More
Q: Given we were in this position last season, who out of Hull, Coventry and Ipswich do you think have a chance of staying up?
Ipswich looks vulnerable due to losing their manager and a weaker summer of recruitment; Coventry appear more likely to stay up, while Hull face a tougher start but could still have a chance depending on signings and embargo impact.
OPPO PREVIEW | Hugues Honoré on RC Lens vs Sunderland!
Q: What is RC Lens's standing in French football historically and currently?
Lens has a modest domestic trophy cabinet with one French championship in 1998 and a French Cup win in 2026, but they have a strong European footprint and a passionate, country-wide support base, making them a historic and ambitious club within Ligue 1 topology.
