「磐井の乱」については様々に記したものがあります。
筑紫の君磐井は「古事記」「日本書紀」では物部氏と大伴氏によって殺されたとあり、一方「筑後の国の風土記・逸文」には、官軍に追われ豊前の国へ逃げたとあり、さらに、怒った官軍は岩戸山古墳の石人・石馬を壊したとあります。
磐井は殺されたのか、逃げたのか、解りません。。
磐井の乱についてはまだまだ未解明の謎の部分がたくさんあります。

「古代の福岡を歩く」も11年目に入りました。
八女市の岩戸山古墳から今回はスタートします。
この古墳の墳丘は135メートル。巨大な前方後円墳です。
古墳に葬られているのは、現在のところ筑紫の君磐井だといわれています。
「磐井の乱」で知られる豪族です。
古墳に付属してある別区といわれる広場は石人石馬を飾ったところ。
ここから巨大な古墳の方へと歩いていきます

「神功皇后伝承を歩く」の著者、綾杉るなさんに話を聞いています。
遠賀郡芦屋町の岡湊神社には神功皇后の夫、仲哀天皇の伝承が残っています。
仲哀天皇の船が遠賀川の河口付近で動かなくなります。
案内人の熊鰐の忠告で大蔵主の命とつぶら姫を祀ると船がスムーズに動いたという伝承です。
芦屋は昔から海運で栄えた町。岡湊神社境内の大きな石灯籠は、芦屋や伊万里の商人が寄付したものだそうです。
