Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Jack Sedman and Harry Draper from Seafret Interview | Discussing Fear of Emotion
Q: What was the headspace like while creating the record?
They describe moving into the writing with more freedom and less external pressure, allowing personal emotions to guide the music.
The Moss Interview | Discussing Big Blue Moon
Q: Can you describe your writing process for this record?
Lyrics and chord ideas start as seeds; demos are shared with the band, and then everyone contributes through in-person jams, adjusting parts until the arrangement feels right and cohesive for the group's vibe.
The Moss Interview | Discussing Big Blue Moon
Q: What is the meaning behind the album title and cover art?
The cover features stars reflected in water, and the title Big Blue Moon comes from an imagined space the songwriter visited to describe vivid visuals and ideas; the concept ties the record to a larger imaginative world rather than a single story.
Jake Kolatis from The Casualties Interview | Discussing DETONATE
Q: What's a memorable moment or challenge during the album creation?
A standout moment was hearing the backups for You the True and feeling goosebumps, while a challenge involved a family emergency that reminded everyone of real-life limits and responsibilities.
Jake Kolatis from The Casualties Interview | Discussing DETONATE
Q: Can you walk us through your writing process for the record?
The guest explains a multi-stage process involving inspiration, demos in California, collaboration with Beggars and Dave, and selecting the strongest material after a period of extensive writing and testing.
