Thank you for this series. I took French in high school for 3 years. That was 25 yrs ago 🫤 Your podcast has been a fun way to bring back all that knowledge. Jacob’s approach is praiseworthy, and I do appreciate his desire to dive deep into the grammar rules (I like to do the same), even though there may be easier, lower-hanging fruit to learn. I am always happy to see a new episode pop up in my feed. Keep it up you two!
I'm a complete beginner at French, but this podcast leads me through all the important topics in a sensible order, which makes learning so easy! Mega shout-out to the leaflets too (can't click the link here, but accessible through Spotify/official website), because you basically don't have to memorise anything. Both Jacob and Claire have super lovely voices to listen to, which is a great bonus.

A practical, learner-friendly French-to-English journey centered on real-life usage, grammar explanations, and plentiful examples. Episodes combine casual dialogue between two hosts with step-by-step clarifications on topics like gerunds, pronouns (y/en, reverse perspective), reflexive verbs, and various past and future tenses, often supplemented by downloadable leaflets, Google Docs, and supplementary videos. A recurring strength is the hands-on approach: live practice, correction, and story-driven segments to solidify concepts, with a friendly, approachable tone that makes tricky grammar feel accessible.
