  • Great!

I love hearing rational people philosophize about economics and how Bitcoin fixes the currency crisis. I like that this podcast doesn't have a bunch of annoying ads, no long intro music, and Knut's sense of humor and puns are a fun addition.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Jeff Booth on User Activated Soft Forks | Bitcoin Infinity Show #213
Q: What are the main risks and dynamics around user-activated soft forks and the Bitcoin 10 scenario?
The guest explains that security and decentralization depend on the consensus of nodes and miners, with the real danger being centralization and manipulation. The outcome is uncertain, but the emphasis remains on vocal participation by users and nodes, and on observing how the ecosystem evolves under pressure.
How Bitcoin Backed Lending Actually Works with Martin Matejka | Bitcoin Infinity Show #212
Q: Would you say that it could be an onboarding tool like that? Is it like a tool for orange pilling? People who hold large fiat stacks?
He agrees it can onboard new users by showing Bitcoin's usefulness and that people can interact with Bitcoin without touching it, ultimately broadening awareness and adoption.
How Bitcoin Backed Lending Actually Works with Martin Matejka | Bitcoin Infinity Show #212
Q: So what are your views on this? Why did you start working on this? And what were the motivations for starting Firefish?
Martin describes a previous lack of trustworthy platforms after BlockFi and Celsius failed, and says the goal is to build a secure, Bitcoin-native loan platform that reduces counterparty risk and leverages Bitcoin's programmability to enforce contracts without fiat rails.
How Bitcoin Backed Lending Actually Works with Martin Matejka | Bitcoin Infinity Show #212
Q: Yes, and what's the start-up?
Martin explains Firefish as a Bitcoin-backed lending platform designed to minimize counterparty risk by using Bitcoin layer-one security features, creating a secure escrow contract that only allows two paths: repayment to the borrower or liquidation via predefined addresses.
Dr. Jack Kruse Uncensored | BIS #209
Q: Please introduce yourself and give us a TLDR on Dr. Jack Kruse for those who don't know.
Dr. Jack Kruse is a board-certified neurosurgeon who retired about 18 months ago. He emphasizes decentralization across biology, money, and systems, and has been active in Bitcoin advocacy since early on, linking medical histories with financial and governance issues.
