Having fairly recently come back to RPGs after decades away, Frankenstein’s RPG has proved a perfect way to discover what’s been going on in the years I’ve missed, get reacquainted with old favourite systems and to remember the joys of dissing Traveller. Funny, thought-provoking and wonderfully quixotic.
Role playing game rules are dull, they’re the least interesting part of any RPG. This is a pretty geeky podcast for fans of RPGs. In depth discussion and debate of different aspects of RPGs. The host and guests are very knowledgeable and humorous. Definitely recommended.
Our Dr Frankenstein, Dave, is stitching together bits of other RPG s to create the ultimate RPG. Each episode is based on two particular themes and the host chats over a shortlist of mechanics and approaches from an expert panel. Great discussions but even more enjoyable is the social medial push back on the decisions made! Really enjoyable and dangerous for the wallet as get tempted to buy the games mentioned,
Dave has stitched together something special with this show, that sets out to piece together the perfect rpg. Loads of laughs along the way. I hope that when he throws the switch and yells 'It's alive!" that the podcast doesn't go on a murderous rampage...
