Why so quiet? It’s clear that the trial is held up with multiple injunctions, legal filibusters and just outright corrupt behaviour by a foreign state. It’s August 2025, your predictions on time have been ludicrously surpassed. Our game is shamed by your team Clive and yet you don’t have the journalistic integrity speak out. Grow a pair!
Extremely surface level journalism doesn’t touch on the implications of a football club being run by a state at all or wider implications of corruption at football clubs such a Manchester City. Talks about how FFP can keep poorer clubs in lower tiers but doesn’t discuss how wealthy states buying clubs damages the league.
Given the tone, this podcast should be called “Those nasty horrible people are trying to hurt our wonderful club.” No real insight into the charges, just the fact that they are there. The first two episodes only talk about how wonderful and brilliant City are, with very little reference to any wrongdoing. Normally I’m a fan of Clive Myrie but he does come across a little bias here given he’s a City fan. One of the closing lines references City as “one of the greatest teams ever” with no hint of ... more
I’m not even a Manchester City fan. I hate them but this podcast has made me listen to it pretty much daily even if I’ve listened to the episode even if I finish them, I’m not interested but skip to episode three if you want to hear about the charges they’re facing
Skip straight to episode 3 if you want to get to the bit where they talk about anything remotely interesting and related to the title of the podcast. Other than that it’s a love-in with Ciry fans. This podcast is really thin on intellectual content. It needed to dive far deeper into city’s alleged crimes in my opinion. Disappointing output from 2 hours of talking.
