Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Bill Morrison on THE SIMPSONS, THE BEATLES, MAD MAGAZINE, and FUTURAMA
Q: How did your collaboration with The Simpsons come together?
Morrison explains that his entry began in movie advertising, meeting Matt Groening through a colleague, then gradually taking on Simpsons merchandise work. He eventually moved to full-time work at Fox and expanded into publishing, including Simpsons Illustrated and the path to founding Bongo Comics.
Daniel Bernhardt on DEATHSTALKER, NOBODY, and JOHN WICK
Q: What was the process like shooting this, especially with map paintings, practical effects, and VFX all in play?
The process was very collaborative and hands-on; Kostanski encouraged experimentation, the design and monsters were a big part of the experience, and we leaned on a mix of practical effects with careful coordination to keep the film feeling tactile and alive, with a strong emphasis on performance and timing to land the humor amid the action.
Daniel Bernhardt on DEATHSTALKER, NOBODY, and JOHN WICK
Q: So can you talk a little bit about your approach to this?
I approached the role by staying grounded and letting the humor emerge naturally from the character, following the director's lead and the script, while trusting the instincts I've built over 30 years of acting to keep the performance real rather than turning it into a parody.
Sid Abbruzzi on Water Brothers: The Sid Abbruzzi Story
Q: And how has the film been received across different locations and audiences?
The film has been very well received, with sell-out shows in several places and a sense of connection within local surf and skate communities, which underscores the universal themes of memory and belonging.
Augie Duke on THE WORKOUT
Q: Do you find working in heightened or genre worlds cathartic, and why?
She says yes, finding genre work therapeutic because it allows escaping reality and exploring different selves, while noting that all acting can be therapeutic and that being on set helps her feel centered.
