  • I love it

It looks like it might be just centred around fitness but it isn’t - which is amazing! The guests are all actors of performers so it’s interesting to take a look at their lives, and that’s what I started listening to, but now I love the episodes with just the boys maybe even more, they’re so funny and even though I’m not a gym-goer I’m a big fan. Well done lads!

  • Congratulations!

Big fan of the podcast but even more so hearing Bobby's news. The more stories shared by parents in the industry, the better I say. Please keep sharing (what you are willing to) as it is so relatable!

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

258. 5 Sneaky Habits That Are Draining Your Stage Energy
Q: How the hell do I stop bloating when I'm living on protein bars and hotel salad?
The hosts recommend reducing reliance on protein bars, opting for options like Greek yogurt, hard-boiled eggs, jerky, fruit, and prepared proteins; aim for regular meals and stable routines, and consider gut-traceable culprits like gluten, certain carbs, or specific bars. They also suggest trying a different protein bar to identify intolerances and adding gentle post-meal movement to aid digestion.
257. Eddie Slattery
Q: How did Eddie's early life and family background influence his career in dance?
His upbringing near Loch Lomond, with a navy/fire-service family history, instilled discipline and a sense of possibility that carried into his performing arts training and career decisions.
260. The Hidden Dangers of Overstretching - Flexibility vs. Mobility
Q: Is it actually possible to build muscle while doing eight shows a week, or am I just dreaming?
Yes, you can build muscle with eight shows if you're in a calorie surplus, train with full-body workouts 2–3 times per week (or even less if appropriate), prioritize protein intake (roughly 1.5–2.2 g per kg body weight), and ensure adequate sleep and recovery; the key is smart dosing rather than simply cramming in more training.
274. Gabriela Gregorian
Q: How does the story of your life begin?
Gabriela describes being born on Christmas Eve, growing up as the middle child with two sisters, and how early dance and family support steered her toward a performing career.
270. Mental Resilience: Techniques to Combat Performance Anxiety
Q: Marco asks about how to handle eating issues when he swings between eating everything and nothing, and whether counting calories is the right approach for performers.
The hosts acknowledge multiple tools besides counting calories, such as the Helpful Hand Method and SMART goals with habit tracking, emphasizing that calories can be useful but are not the right tool for everyone. They advocate choosing a sustainable, individualized plan and using a habit tracker to gauge progress while staying flexible.
