陳淑樺從小愛唱歌，她在八歲參加中廣的「台灣歌謠比賽」歌唱比賽，以一首〈個個滿足〉奪得冠軍，被譽為天才童星。隔年於「天使唱片」錄製單曲，不久則加入「五虎唱片」，以童星身分踏入歌壇，當年的藝名為尤萍。1973年，陳淑樺加入海山唱片發行個人首張專輯《愛的太陽》，後來也在電視節目《千里單騎》擔任主持工作，同期間出版了包括華語流行歌和台灣民謠專輯《寧靜海》、《歸程》、《美麗與哀愁》、《又見春天》等專輯，1982年，發表以主打歌《夕陽伴我歸》同名的個人專輯，成為當年台灣賣座最佳專輯。
