鄭家軍來自福建南安，赤腳大軍和大帽韃子是「國姓爺」鄭成功領導鄭家軍造型獨特的部隊。
赤腳大軍就是光著腳丫子、短衫短褲的裝扮，適合沿海的作戰方式；而「大帽韃子」是藤牌兵，他們利用藤製的盾牌保護頭部，遠看像是頭上戴著大斗笠，由此可見，鄭成功是個靈活運用戰術戰技的軍事家。
鄭成功的父親鄭芝龍，在海上擁有相當龐大的艦隊和戰力，往返大陸與日本經商，和日本女子田川氏結婚，兒子就是鄭成功，當時取名鄭森。
