如果不是群星阵容加上原著漫画的影响力，光以袁和平的导演素质，《镖人：风起大漠》也不可能挤进春节档，很难想象近十五年连续拍了四部市场口碑双扑街的老导演还能找到这么高投资，戏里戏外都在展示一种逆流而上的勇气，当然，肯定是贬义的勇气。袁和平在这个层面和其他武指转导演都有共同的问题——除了打戏什么都不会拍，而80多岁的袁和平又能有多大的动作创造力呢？能控制住退步的速率就算不错了。

《狂野时代》虽然是除《老虎》外毕赣最差的一部电影长片（因为我没有看过《老虎》），但肯定不算是一部烂片。它是一部蠢片，充斥着表达欲早就枯竭的电影导演拼命想拍点什么的无力感，一切对电影史的致敬、对五感的使用都是为了掩饰空洞的符号堆砌，铺天盖地的隐喻解读恰好证明了这一点。
相比较电影本身，我更好奇的是毕赣的影像创造力和表达欲为何消散得如此之快，他作为一个艺术片导演能在十年间从百万成本的《路边野餐》飞跃到上亿投资的《狂野时代》，我找不到明确的答案，或许这十年才是真正的“狂野时代”。
