As two wonderful years come to an end, Piper and Lillian reflect on what we've learned from Jane Eyre.
Thank you for joining us on this journey.
Happy Jane Eyre reading and watching.
In the style of an edgy live-action Disney movie of the 2010s, Lillian and Piper come up with a sympathetic back story for Brocklehurst. He's waaaaay more relatable now. Trust us!
We also discuss the adaptations we didn't get to review, including ... more
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!!! When it comes to character studies, we saved the best for last. So, in the spirit of giving, here's our gift to you.

We talk to Author Melodie Edwards about her reimagining of Jane and Edward's love story in modern-day Toronto. We talk about what inspired this story, what was easy to adapt, and which plot points were harder to figure out in this new setting.

I am new to the podcast… just returned to Jane Eyre and wanted to think and process. I read it in middle school , as a young adult, and now again in my 50s. There is so much to thus book! Looking forward to more episodes and whatever you take on next.
This is still my favourite podcast. As the versions of Jane Eyre become more obscure (1970s Spanish adaptation!) the chat continues to be entertaining and just so much fun…
Piper and Lillian are very bright and perceptive twenty somethings that are discovering the classic, “Jane Eyre” by Charlotte Brontë. Through their deep dive into all things Jane related, they are bringing to life this amazing story in a way that is fresh and accessible for all ages. I highly recommend this podcast. It will not give you nightmares but is fun and a truly enjoyable way to look deeply into a literary classic. You don’t need to have read the book to understand the podcast, but they ... more
Hi, I really love your reviews as I love watching all the adaptations. I just don’t really understand how you base your opinions without ever having read the book. To me, comparing each adaptation to the book is more interesting than comparing them to each other. The 2006 version seems the most true to the book to me and that’s why it’s my favorite as well as Jane and Rochesters good banter. It’s just a little weird to me to speak so much of the story and not really know it. I still enjoy listen... more
I love listening to Piper and Lillian discussing and dissecting every adaptation of Jane Eyre that’s ever been made. It is so cool to hear them finding more and more layers of meaning and metaphor as they get to know the story better…..and then they read the book! This is brilliant because they find that there’s so much more in it and they have so many film and tv adaptions to refer to. Above all, they are such great people to listen to and the whole adventure is total fun.
