I discovered Explorers Wanted when I went in search of a different game’s actual play (a Fairy Tale RPG by the creators of Numenera), that this crew did as a one-shot. I stayed for their chill vibes and belly-laugh-inducing chaotic choices.
The main campaigns (of which there may be 3?) set in the weird Sci-Fantasy world of Numenera are grand feasts, but the episodes are bite-sized, always leaving you hungry for the next.

Just discovered this podcast and am currently listening to the first campaign. But with a hour drive to work and an hour drive back… I’m catching up quick! Look forward to hearing the newer stuff to see how they have developed. I’m am very impressed with the great group of gamers and have thoroughly enjoyed every episode. The GM does a great job involving every player and progressing their story and the role play between the group is very enjoyable. I absolutely love Numenera as a game system an... more
This is the only long-running actual play podcast set in Numenera (and one of the few in the Cypher system) I’ve found that I enjoy. The RP is *fantastic*—except when they attempt to portray children and their parents, an interaction that comes across as very stilted. The characters are compelling, and the adventure and storyline are engrossing. Thank you, Explorers Wanted, for creating an awesome Numenera audio experience!

My fav actual play podcast is Explorers Wanted! As a regular, weekly Numenera show it offers excellent levels of sound quality, amazing storytelling, character & background building, atmospheric music beautiful editing & sound effects from GM & players. Two campaigns and hundreds of episodes! Mature language, LBGTQ- friendly! Fulls of Cinematic Adventure, professionalism and memorable laughs! Check them out!
In just a few months I’ve raced through over a hundred episodes of this podcast. I’ve deferred holds on library books in favor of Explorers Wanted. Daniel manages to convey the singular bizarreness of Numenera without resorting to extended descriptions that would bog down action. The characters are complicated and messy and sincere. The group has great cohesion and momentum—every episode is an hour and they fit *so much* action and character into that time. If you aren’t a Cypher/Numenera player... more
