I especially like how this podcast focuses on the how-to basics — how to get a visa, find an apartment, look for a job, make friends, etc. I’ve lived in some of the places that are discussed and the advice tends to be spot on.
A pity the podcast stopped and isn’t being updated.
David is a fantastic host. He and his guest share a lot of great information for everyone who’s interested in moving abroad as an expat or digital nomad. Must listen!
I’m a retired university professor and am treating McNeill’s “Expat Empire” as a remote college course, albeit far more enjoyable and fun than most college courses I’ve taken or taught (with the possible exception of ballroom dancing).
I’m especially impressed with his interviewing technique which skillfully and respectfully leads his guests to describe both their experiences in specific countries and cultures, as well as their guests’ opinions on more general advice for expats.
