  • Stop interrupting

I tried to listen to Eden Sher’s pregnancy story, but I ended up listening to the host interject every 60 seconds with some personal anecdote or other unrelated nonsense. Impossible to make it through.

Q: What's a common question you get from parents about improving sleep with a baby?
How can I get better sleep with my baby, and how can sleep strategies be adapted to fit both baby's needs and the parents' well-being?
The Peaceful Sleeper: Rethinking Baby Sleep, Attachment, and Parental Well-being (with Chrissy Lawler)
Q: What makes Chrissy unique in the space of baby sleep?
Her approach centers on no one-size-fits-all solutions, the integration of data from diverse sources, and a focus on family functioning and thriving as a whole rather than prescribing a single method.
The Peaceful Sleeper: Rethinking Baby Sleep, Attachment, and Parental Well-being (with Chrissy Lawler)
Q: What would you say to parents who worry about crying it out or want to maintain attachment while sleep training?
Focus on a developmental framework, validate protest as part of growth, and choose strategies that support both the baby and caregiver—sleep training can be gentle and gradual, and attachment comes from warmth and responsiveness throughout the day, not from night-time proximity alone.
The Peaceful Sleeper: Rethinking Baby Sleep, Attachment, and Parental Well-being (with Chrissy Lawler)
Q: What is your first step of advice for new or expectant parents?
Prioritize sleep as a foundation for well-being and recognize that the exact method isn't as important as consistently finding a respectful approach that works for your family; avoid external pressure and start with basic structure, cues, and gradual adjustments.
