A fantastic listen while hunting for the next mother-load asteroid.
Well produced, written and acted.
One of the best!
There aren’t enough pure SciFi podcasts that aren’t either comedies or horror or fantasies. This show is really well done with good sound design and good acting. There is enough plot; the action scenes are especially well done so it’s easy to parse what’s happening. Some of the plot elements of slavery and kidnapping could be challenging for some listeners, and I’d love more inclusivity. But this show fills a surprisingly underpopulated niche in podcast Audio Dramas. Good find.
Great production. Great story 👍
Myself and my wife listened to this every evening for weeks, if not months, until the end. Great writing, acting and production.
Turkey awesome work from start to finish
A great scifi story and a story of friendship too.
Strong Sci Fi story you can enjoy even without being familiar with the Elite Dangerous universe
Audio drama done very well. It only takes an episode or two before you'll buckle your seatbelt and hang on for a wild ride.
Chris Jarvis is producing a really engaging show utilising his excellent audio production skills and some solid acting to make an entertaining, exciting & gripping journey into the universe of the Elite computer game series where intrigue rules, life is cheap and the galaxy awaits brave adventurers.
Very well written, produced and acted. The story is very immersive and the characters very relatable. There are constant unanswered questions that keep the interest.
The first season had a few flaws in the writing the actors just rolled with that didn't quite fit too well, but since the first season is going to be reduxed soon, I'm not considering this a big issue. Definitely looking forward to more, keep it up :)
As an Elite Dangerous Kickstarter and follower or Lave Radio I have listened to Escape Velocity since it first started. The quality has just got better and better. The storylines have always been top notch and the acting and production are now at very proffessional levels. Season 3's finale use of music left me with goose bumps!!
I can't recommend this highly enough. Well worth listening to every episode. Well done Chris and and crew! Keep up the excellent work!
Very High Stand of Audio Drama, from the Actors, to Allen Stroud with the Audio Soundtrack and with the many tallents of Christopher Jarvis, to mix - Thank you all
Escape Velocity, like all good Sci-Fi drama, is about people and how they interact. The setting is space; specifically the galaxy originally created by David Braben and Ian Bell for the 1984 computer game "Elite" and its sequels, and there's plenty of whooshing engines and zapping lasers to establish the environment and flesh out the audioscape, and there are plenty of curiosities, like a four-faceted city built on the inside of a giant space station, the spinning of which acts like a centrifuge... more
I've never played Elite, but I'm thoroughly enjoying this series. It has the atmosphere of some of the better episodes of Blake Seven.
