  • Not My Style

Comes across very negative. The host, Meghan speaks entirely too fast, so it’s very difficult to understand what she says. Closed captioning even has a hard time keeping up!! She doesn’t complete her sentence before starting a new one. She should S L O W D O W N…take breaths. Melisa is much easier on the ears— I would recommend letting her talk more!!

  • I'm Sorry 🤷‍♀️

I started listening about 3 weeks ago& I must say I was enjoying everything I was hearing. Politically and advise wise. I'm a progressive democrat so I welcomed most all the political banter. Until you were talking about the Grammys. I am a staunch Cowboy Carter supporter and fan. Most importantly for bringing Rhiannon Giddens and the black artists in bluegrass to the forefront. Country music radio has paid the better part of my household bills for the last 25 years. The conservatives and... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

I Hate My Friends
Q: How do I meet new people without destroying existing friendships?
The hosts suggest treating the exit from a friend group as a natural life transition, use boundaries, and seek new groups through activities you enjoy; stay in touch with old friends at a comfortable distance while actively pursuing new connections.
Drawing Boundaries With My Older Coworker
Q: What should the caller say to set boundaries with the coworker who is pushing boundaries?
Be direct and specific about what is acceptable and what is not, avoid ambiguous or joking language, and follow through with consequences if the behavior continues; consider reporting to HR if appropriate.
Sacrificing Your Livelihood For a Man
Q: What's the main warning about living with a partner in college?
They stress it's a setup for increased conflict and potential financial or emotional strain, arguing that independence and personal growth are best pursued separately during school years.
Sacrificing Your Livelihood For a Man
Q: How should this caller approach telling her parents about moving out with a partner while still in college?
The hosts emphasize keeping education as the priority, recommend living independently to establish boundaries, and advise building a financial plan (job, budgeting) before any cohabitation; they caution about the pressure and risk to academic life and mental well-being.
My Friend is Always the Drama
Q: Hi Meghan and Melissa. Long time listener, first time writing in. I am 26 female and my friend is also 26 female and is bisexual. I've been with my husband for four years and married almost a year. I'm also prior army and I tend to be pretty direct and solution oriented. I'm writing because I'm struggling with a friendship and I don't know if I'm being too harsh or if my feelings are valid. My friend constantly plays the victim.
The hosts acknowledge the pattern of one-sided drama, validate the writer's exhaustion, and advise setting firm boundaries, considering stepping back from the friendship if the dynamic doesn't change, and seeking support from trusted allies rather than acting as a therapist for someone who isn't applying the given advice.
