臺東縣文化處去年創刊《海海臺東》（南島誌），以免費書刊形式介紹南島及太平洋文化，與當代生活息息相關的議題，可向文化處、百大文化基地、書書果實閱讀平台（臺東獨立書店聯盟）索取。今年9月30日發刊的第四期內容，以航海專題領航，介紹近年來發生在太平洋與臺東的重大舟船故事，以及各式各樣的南島話題，10月4日將在都蘭糖廠舉辦「南島生活市集」同時也是新一期書刊的發表會。
