I’m a massive Doctor Who fan. I don’t write a lot of reviews — especially on podcasts. I treasure this cast, however: the speakers don’t stick to the topic at hand. If you’re listening to this cast, I’m assuming you’re listening to this, you’re seeking in-depth comparisons between Target novelizations and their respective television episodes. I’ll be honest. You’re not going to get that here. But, you will get entertaining conversation between hardcore DW fans.
So, I have listened to this podcast in another format and have enjoyed it and continue to enjoy it. Jason brings on guest after guest (nit even sparing his own daughter) and they talk not only about the book, but also the show and the facts behind the show. Jason has his share of games to play with his guests and some give him challenges as good as he gets. The last segment is always an audio essay about the book, which is rich in lore and what the author was doing for the book.
I discovered this product pretty late in the day but delighted that I have so much to go through and binge on now. Full of heart, warmth and knowledge, this podcast has inspired me to dig out my Target library and give them another read, and each new episode popping up has become a special Sunday treat.
It's The Five Doctors, might as well throw everything at it!WNED broadcast December 4th, 1985
If you are a Whovian and a fan of The Doctor Who novelisations this podcast is AMAZING! I lost sleep listening to the clever dialogue between host and his compelling guests. Enlightening! Thank you Jason and your team for the excellent writing, comprehensive and thorough breakdown of the series. I am eagerly looking forward to the next episode.
