What do a Muslim activist and a Catholic monk have in common? It’s not a joke, it’s a podcast. We are two men with wildly different religious, political, and social convictions seeking mutual understanding. The point is dialogue--with some silliness thrown in.

I hope this podcast helps everyone realize that each and all of us have more in common than not and that civil talking can bring us together. Thank you both for “Disagreement,” which is actually more about Agreement!!
I am thoroughly enjoying this. Educational, fun, enlightening, engaging, and entertaining. I am learning about Islam, but also more Dee my Catholic faith. Worth listening to from start to finish. Thank you Fr. Augustine for making this happen.
I found out about this Podcast through a Pints with Aquinas episode with Fr. Wetta. I have to say I loved the way Fr. Wetta approached life and faith on that episode and so it led me here. I was pleasantly surprised to see that Umar is an extremely intelligent and good-willed man as well, and their dialogue with one another is refreshing. Can’t wait for more episodes, and God bless these two men.
Just to add - you boys need to make these episodes at least an hour long. It’s way too much fun to ... more
Found these guys because of Father’s appearance on Pints With Aquinas. Happy to have found the same thoughtfulness and sense of humor from him here, and enjoying hearing from Umar too! It’s really a blessing to listen to true dialogue in such a polarized, foolish time.
I’m on the second podcast and already love it! As an African American Catholic, I love that I can listen to the two points of view and identify with aspects of both men!!

The show centers on dialogue between two deeply different thinkers, often exploring religion, culture, and current events through civil, sometimes humorous, exchanges. Episodes frequently contrast Catholic and Muslim perspectives, tackle controversial topics like war, immigration, and social norms, and examine how faith informs political and ethical stances in contemporary America. A notable strength is the willingness to argue openly while maintaining mutual respect, which can appeal to listeners who value thoughtful disagreement and cross-cultural perspectives. The format and guests appear to encourage nuanced conversations over partisan debates, making it potential fodder for listeners seeking intellectual engagement with faith, society,... more
