  • Fascinating

This is a compulsive listen, I simply couldn’t stop once I started. Saul took me on a deep mesmerising journey to meet his dad, his family and his dad’s mysterious past. This is investigative journalism at its best. Be prepared to be caught in this web and lured into Christopher Wordsworth’s unique world. It’s Also deeply illuminating about a certain time and place and how family patterns mark a person. You won’t regret finding this podcast and it might be a bit healing too.

  • An interesting story worthy of telling

Absolutely loved this podcast. Held me spellbound on my daily dog walks. Excellent storytelling. Christopher today would probably be diagnosed with some kind of disorder PTSD, bipolar, ADHD, etc etc and he may have got the help he needed. I liked him and loathed him in equal measure. Saul’s story towards the end was touching although not unsurprising. I can relate to a lot of Saul’s mental health issues. We are a similar age and I’m glad we live in an age where it is more acceptable to talk abou... more

  • Quite interesting

I listened to bits of this and skipped over parts as it’s a bit boring in sections. Also the main character Christopher Wordsworth is such a deeply unpleasant narcissist that I struggled to engage with the story. An interesting insight into some rackety bohemian types but overall hard to feel much empathy. Still worth a listen if you like this type of thing. Pretty awful soundtrack imo.

  • Seriously?

I’m guessing the high reviews are from the same people who simultaneously discovered podcasts and fire in 2023. Where to begin… Firstly, who the hell gifted this dude a soundboard? He utters a couple of words and then blares sound bites and music (noise) because he thinks he’s so quirky and clever. Mate, you’re just annoying. Nevertheless, I push through hoping for the best, instead I have to listen to him spend an inordinate amount of time praising himself (whilst bashing the soundboard mind yo... more

  • An interesting personal study

An interesting personal study into an interesting character, but a tad overdramatised. The podcast title is rather misleading; I don’t think one could characterise Chris Wordsworth as a devil. A deeply flawed individual yes, but not evil or the devil!
