大約在四十多年前，我還在就讀國小的時代，有一天，我無意間從父親的書櫃中翻出一本薄薄的小說。書封上寫著《塔裡的女人與北極風情畫（合訂本）》，作者是無名氏。由於書名和作者姓名都太特別了，我忍不住翻開來讀。沒想到，這一讀，讓我的世界就此改變。我真正認識什麼叫男歡女愛，就從這本書開始。
這麼多年之後，重讀《塔裡的女人》與《北極風情畫》，我還是為無名氏浪漫的情節與華麗的文筆而感動不已。但此際，我突然又想起年輕時讀到的一段文字：「所謂刻骨銘心的愛情，一旦納入歷史，不過是個人的感傷與浪漫罷了。」
