  • good presentation, but little depth

I like listening to the presenters / hosts and work as a Azure cloud engineer. As such I can barely get anything useful out of this podcast that I couldn’t get from the MS website in less time. I listen to it more for the occasional story how things were back in time and such things.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

344 - Insights on using applied AI with Rick Van Rousselt
Q: And what about the next 90 days? Where should organizations start in the next 90 days?
Start with practical, non-disruptive pilots that tie to real business processes, establish a governance framework, ensure data sources are accessible and secure, and begin adoption programs across departments to build a foundation for scalable, sustained AI usage.
344 - Insights on using applied AI with Rick Van Rousselt
Q: What would you say, what's the question customers keep asking you that tells you that, well, we're still in the early phases of this one. There's still a long way to go.
Customers frequently ask about how to implement AI so it actually does something tangible, not just answer questions. They want proven paths from quick wins like basic Copilot usage to deeper automation with agentic AI, and they seek guidance on balancing speed with security, data governance, and long-term viability.
344 - Insights on using applied AI with Rick Van Rousselt
Q: Let's warm up a little bit here. When you look back at the past, let's say 12 months, what do you feel has actually changed in how organizations are using AI versus when they're just talking about AI and sort of hyping up the dream of what AI could do for them?
Rick notes a shift from initial optimism and broad experimentation to a focus on practical value, with organizations now aiming to produce measurable productivity gains and business outcomes, while also moving from generic AI use to more structured, governance-aware deployments that protect data and corporate values.
324 - Governing AI with the Security Dashboard for AI
Q: What comes to mind with AI and the sort of need to govern and control who does what and how?
There's a strong need for governance, especially with the rise of Vibe coding and AI implementations. It's important to have controls and accountability.
308 - Running AI workloads at home
Q: How do you approach building your own service or tool you would need, when you know you're going to be needing LLMs?
Use platforms like Hugging Face to filter and select specific models based on your AI needs.
