I listened to three Dice and Dialogue episodes about Monster of the Week; while the 4 hosts are clearly experienced and have good ideas, they’re hard to listen to. Alex and Brandon were thoughtful; but Ian interrupted a lot-- often to make juvenile or inside jokes -- and was hard to understand when excited. Justin seemed rigid, impatient, judgmental, and condescending. Whenever he asked for thoughts from others on the team, he passed judgment on what they said. (E.g., "I don't hate that idea.") ... more
The topics and advice the three hosts cover are great, and they have introduced me to a lot of third-party content that I have loved.
The hosts themselves seem to have a lot of unresolved animosity between them. Justin and Ian in particular are snarky to each other and bicker frequently on the show, which isn’t what I’m looking for in a show.
I prefer the old format
I tried to listen to the episode on monster roles where they had an nearly unintelligible guest who suggested ridiculous things like giving goblins gauntlets of ogre power. High school humour podcast.
I like the show a lot. But one of the guys talks so fast I can’t understand him.
