Content is always great but sadly some guest’s audio is terrible, and hard to understand when unable to really focus on it.
An excellent show that gives a unbiased look at our national security apparatus and the effects of foreign policy decisions wether right or wrong. And most importantly for me another source to learn new things about a topic I’ve always found interesting, not to mention the sharing of resources to go deeper into topics of interest.
This show is a rare find. It’s intelligent, fair and informative. It’s a text book example of focusing on the signal, not the noise. more
Hopefully there’s more episodes of this great intelligence podcast. They were heavily producing counterintelligence episodes in 2020 after a few years layoff. Hopefully there’s more episodes coming in 2021.

My first episode (Obey) gave me, a civilian, considerable pause, when the guest compared how her children come to her to chat/negotiate a later curfew with a soldier who might want to chat/negotiate the use of helicopters and going in without unit identification unidentified to quell protests in DC, Portland, you name it, with his commander. I didn’t realize how much I appreciated this show until it disappeared. John and the excellent guests he routinely manages to get provide thoughtful, knowledgable, and sober analysis of current events. I’m grateful to have this show back.
