I’ve never played Dungeons and Dragons, or any TTRPG, but I really want to after listening to Could’ve Been Heroes. While I dash and deliver, the Nearlies and Robbie are my companions. I’ve laughed so hard that drivers next to me can’t help but stare. I’ve cried openly in my car, choked on my coffee when Gwen called Dodderfell “Daddyfell”, roared with gusto when any of the characters roll high enough to accomplish their quests, and I can’t get enough!
I had so much fun listening to this podcast! I always thought RPGs seemed like fun, but I also thought that the learning curve was a little intimidating. This is very accessible and so much fun. Doesn’t hurt that Amanda is part of the cast (little wink to the true crime crowd). Lots of laughs and super entertaining!
As a big fairy-tale fan, I love the spin off into Faritall, and how the curses merge with the blessings. The story bookends are so well done, and the rpg portion is quirky and unpredictable. This cast is a blast to listen to.
This show has it ALL. Great players, an amazing host, a supercool original system, a mind-blowingly incredible setting, and Dodderfell, the sweetest most precious baby of all time! Tune in if you like good things!!!
Exactly my aesthetic.
