Dr Parker and his guests provide valuable insights into different approaches to your health care. Have listened to countless episodes now. His analogies and explanations are easy to understand, making very complex health issues, easy to understand. My mum listens as well and we call him 'Uncle Chuck' because we feel like we know him so well!
The content and guests are varied and interesting but the overall efficacy/impact is hindered by Dr. Parker’s approach which often fails to dig deeper, asking more probing questions. Even simply asking each guest to narrow the focus of the topic or provide working tools by asking such questions as: “What in your opinion/experience are the 3 most important ways to address XYZ?” or “What is the most concerning/critical area we should be looking at?”. more
I generally enjoy, no LOVE CBJ and Dr. Parker except when he starts talking about politics, and way off base comments like he made in this episode. I am listening in from Sweden, and I learn so much from Dr Parker and his interesting guests. Sadly, information like this is hard to find amongst practitioners here, and underlying factors to symptoms are of little interest. I am thankful to Dr Parker dedicating time in spreading word about helping people with psycological dysfunctions from a non conventional angle. Thank you!
While much of what is here is valid and many may find helpful. As a board certified psychiatrist, I'm concerned that the podcaster is often presenting his own take on scientific findings and at times not accurately representing them (for instance suggesting amphetamines block CYP 2D6 or that using prozac with amphetamines is a problem as a result). This is not the case.
