  • Meh….

The podcast has a good name - but the content is lacking. I only listened to a few but the most recent one was a lot of verbal processing for like 10 mins. Not much of any content - agenda - or real plan. Totally cool if you’re into that - I’m just looking for some solid dad info, hacks, and tricks of the trade. I recommend editing down the side convos and getting to the good parenting advice (if that’s the plan for the show?) I’d tune in for 6 minutes of that over 30 minutes of rambling.

#76. Nurturing Your Toddler's Motor Development || Dr. JT Doscher PT, DPT
Q: What would you identify as signs that a toddler might need professional input before fully leaving the toddler stage?
Watch for persistent gait issues such as toe-walking beyond three months or more than 50% of the time, asymmetries in balance or step patterns, or difficulty with stairs; these can indicate underlying concerns that merit assessment.
#76. Nurturing Your Toddler's Motor Development || Dr. JT Doscher PT, DPT
Q: How important is footwear for toddlers, and what should parents look for?
Footwear matters a lot in toddler development. Choose shoes that support the heel, allow for natural foot movement, and avoid overly restrictive or open-back options like Crocs; footwear should promote balance and coordination as the child grows.
#76. Nurturing Your Toddler's Motor Development || Dr. JT Doscher PT, DPT
Q: What is the typical age range that you consider as a toddler in your practice?
A toddler starts after they begin walking, with the lower end around 12 months, and the upper end extending as they transition toward preschool age, around four to five years old, though it varies by child.
#66. The Journalist Dad || Ned Balme
Q: What was a formative moment with your dad that you carried into parenting or work?
A defining moment was when Ned's dad showed him how to support his child through tough moments, including letting him stay home from school to reset or taking proactive steps to help him cope, demonstrating a balance between firmness and care which Ned now applies in parenting and in workplace conflicts.
#66. The Journalist Dad || Ned Balme
Q: How would you describe Maggie and Banjo, and what are their current ages and interests?
Ned describes Maggie as five and a half, in prep, with creative energy, and Banjo as two and a half, with a strong interest in footy and active play. They've explored ballet turning into circus gymnastics for Maggie and broadened sport involvement for both kids.
