For those, like myself, who recoil from the slightest whiffs of fundamentalism, you won’t find that here.

What you WILL find, is a humble, gentle, wise man of God who helps us shed the coils of false religion so we can go deeper into intimacy with Jesus.

I’ve known Mike for years, watched his life, listened to his words of friendship and counsel as well as his jokes and fun. Mike’s the real deal. I’m grateful for this new way for him to share his life and insights from his walk with God. Mike models grace. Unmerited favor. We all need more of that.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

There is a God in the Room with Us
Q: Are those prayers that are prayed out of habit and routine devoid of power or are they powerful?
Routine prayers can be powerful when they are grounded in love and intention, much like the daily conversations in a marriage that sustain the relationship.
When We Pray and Healing Doesn't Happen
Q: What do we do when someone isn't healed?
We continue to pray; we maintain hope and trust that God is at work, whether in physical healing or deeper, spiritual healing.
When We Pray and Healing Doesn't Happen
Q: What keeps you going and praying for other people?
Even in the face of disappointment with unanswered prayers, I know God is alive and Jesus still heals. My faith is maintained by the realization that healing comes in many forms, and I hold on to the experiences of God’s goodness that build my faith.
What IN THE WORLD is the Holy Spirit doing?
Q: How did you feel when you first received the call to missions?
Ekblad shares about feeling compelled to serve, which set his journey towards Africa.
Hearing and Following the Holy Spirit
Q: What would be some maybe entry points for people on that that you would give them if they're like, OK, I’m not ready to go to Mississippi, but I do really want to hear God’s voice?
Making space individually would be an entrance point. And making space in community where you find maybe a small group of people where you could trust them enough to say, I think I’m hearing God say this. What do you think?
