  • Fantastic

This is an amazing podcast to listen to if you’re a new handler, or even if you are an experienced handler. You will pick up at least one great thing each episode that makes you think about your own dog at home and how you can apply what they said to your training.

  • New Handler

    I started their 52+ program with a 3 & 2 yr old golden retriever.

My experience level for training a hunting dog was very minimal, with zero experience training a waterfowl dog!

The 52+ is laid out for success and accompanies to someone like me who has very minimal experience to someone that has lots of experience!

With this program, you will gain the confidence to build a great hunting dog, but it’s up to you to put in the work 👍

    Enjoy the process

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

From Gun Shy to Gun Dog… He Almost Made the Same Mistake Again | Terrance's Story
Q: What would you say to someone who feels like giving up on training a dog?
Don't give up. If needed, take a break and back up a few steps or weeks to revisit mastered skills, then rebuild momentum with the same playbook. Trust the process, and focus on making the next best step today rather than stressing about the end goal.
When Training Goes Wrong- Gun Shy Scare | Jason Albano’s Story
Q: How did you realize you needed to go back to the basics rather than pushing through the gunfire issue directly?
I recognized that without rebuilding confidence first, pushing gunfire could retraumatize the dog. Going back to the beginning and following a structured program provided the dog with a series of small, confidence-building steps that gradually reintroduced gunfire in a controlled way, ultimately restoring trust and hunting ability.
Starting With a 3-Year Old Dog. Is it Too Late? | Cody Lloyd's Story
Q: What would you say to someone that is starting to lose hope in their two or three year old dog?
Be consistent in training and consider going back to basics to fill any training gaps.
Starting With a 3-Year Old Dog. Is it Too Late? | Cody Lloyd's Story
Q: What would be your biggest piece of advice for a new person starting out?
Be a good leader and build a trusting relationship with your dog.
Mississippi Roots, Kansas Wings | Wade Skeen
Q: What's one piece of advice you would tell yourself, other than by the course and all that?
Throw the expectations out the window. Enjoy the process itself.
