  • No good

This is a terrible podcast if you wanna listen to it for the Rangers if you wanna listen to someone complain about the Mets is the one for you ! GREG is awful. The only time it’s good is when they have guests on.

  • Real and funny

I’ve been a Blueshirts for 45+ years. My earliest memories are of the Rangers. In all those years this is arguably the best outlet for news, perspective, fan therapy and humor. Love the guys!

  • You broke me…

Well I’ve been listening about six months & first off (sandwich method of feedback) overall I do love the pod despite the miserable Rangers’ state and their prospects going forward (really lack there of!).

I don’t always agree but Greg & Ryan crack me up with your ‘say it as it is’ approach. Probably helps that I’m a Mets fan and originally from Rensselaer Co & now living in the Philly burbs, so there’s a bit of a link with the BB portion of the show.

My gripe, as brutally honest as it is, i... more

Big fan of the show. First time long time yada yada. Can we lower the volume of the intro music of Vince’s show. It’s so loud and scares me. Thank you, you 3 guys are great. XOXO LETS GO METS

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Blueshirts Breakaway EP 554: Pavel Dorofeyev, Smits & Free Agency with Emily Kaplan and Drew Way
Q: How do you see Dorofeyev fitting with Lafreniere and the rest of the Rangers' core in the short and long term?
The hosts and Kaplan agree Dorofeyev should slot into a top-six role as a scoring winger, potentially with playmakers who can feed him, while Smits offers a complimentary, potentially longer-term defensive pairing option; the overall view is that Dorofeyev changes the lineup today with upside over several years.
Blueshirts Breakaway EP 554: Pavel Dorofeyev, Smits & Free Agency with Emily Kaplan and Drew Way
Q: Emily, how did Pavel Dorofeyev end up in New York, and what behind-the-scenes momentum helped this move happen?
Kaplan explains there were momentum factors behind the scenes, including Dorofeyev's regional ties and the Vegas organization's smart asset management, which aligned with the Rangers' window of opportunity to make a splash without sacrificing top assets.
Blueshirts Breakaway EP 553 - Brady Tkachuk to FLA & NYR Draft Plan with Vince Z. Mercogliano
Q: Should the Rangers realistically expect to get someone better than Samuskevich back for Trocheck or Schneider?
The hosts and Vince discuss that this would depend on market dynamics and willingness of other teams to meet the Rangers' price, with skepticism about returning an upgrade that clearly beats Samuskevich given the assets involved.
The Flying V EP 33: Eastern Promises with Chris Johnston
Q: What's the latest thinking on Vincent Trocheck and how quickly something might get done?
CJ asserts that the expectation is for Trocheck to be traded this summer, with teams identifying perceived fit and value; the Rangers are trying to maximize value and avoid dragging negotiations into the season, while also weighing younger assets and the no-movement clause constraints.
The Flying V EP 33: Eastern Promises with Chris Johnston
Q: What do you make of this flurry of activity around the NHL right now?
CJ explains it's a convergence of a rising cap, ambition to win, and a shift toward more aggressive, creative trades, with many teams willing to move young cost-controlled assets to accelerate their timeline, while the Rangers weigh their options in a seller's market.
