Big fan of the show. First time long time yada yada. Can we lower the volume of the intro music of Vince’s show. It’s so loud and scares me. Thank you, you 3 guys are great. XOXO LETS GO METS

If the Rangers are able to move Trocheck at the deadline, do you guys think they’d consider retaining salary to juice the return? I know that means dead cap for the 3 years after this season, but with where the team’s at, would you do it if it’s the difference between a “good” return and an extra premium piece (1st-rounder / A-level prospect)? Makes sense to do it in my head but I’ll hang up and listen. Thanks!

  • Adam Fox Team USA

Should we be concerned (based on the fact Sullivan, Quinn and Drury are all big parts of team USA) if Adam Fox does not make that team that he is not staying much longer in New York?

  • Upstate NY, lol

New Listener here: enjoying the first few episodes I’ve checked out, but as a new listener I’m not surewhat the previous argument was, but as someone born and raised in Brooklyn, moved to Long Island at 25 and now 25+ years later now live out of NY State; the Bronx/Westchester county line IS WITHOUT QUESTION the distinction between “Upstate” and “New York”. If you speak to anyone from “upstate” they actually do use the expression “downstate” (who knew) to refer to NYC and Long Island. This is a... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

The Flying V: EP 22 - Back to the Future with The Athletic's Scott Wheeler
Q: Which prospects do you think are most likely to move the needle for the Rangers in the near term?
Gabe Perreault is the standout, with his playmaking and scoring ability; I also see potential in Fortescue and Greentree to contribute at higher levels, while Dylan Garand could emerge as a reliable NHL backup if development continues.
The Flying V: EP 21 - Everybody Wants Some with ESPN's Emily Kaplan
Q: Will the recent good play and positive vibes change the management's mind on trading Trocheck in the off season?
Emily Kaplan indicates that while momentum matters, the Rangers are likely to pursue a Trocheck trade this summer to maximize value, given the asset class and the need to build for the long term, though circumstances could influence timing.
The Flying V: EP 5 - You've Got Mail
Q: What is next for Trocheck's return and where could he fit in the lineup?
Trocheck is anticipated to return soon, potentially as 3C with Sherry and Radish on the third line, or possibly on the second line with Panarin, depending on how the lineup is balanced; the host discusses keeping Labba in the middle six and preserving Miller-Zabanajad together.
The Flying V: EP 5 - You've Got Mail
Q: What is their number one need at the current moment?
The host suggests they could use another offensive defenceman or a top six wing to add depth and secondary scoring, but emphasizes that the core forwards must start producing; the overall takeaway is that the team needs more scoring depth and faster offensive contributions from multiple lines.
Blueshirts Breakaway EP 537 - Trade Deadline Preview with Colin Stephenson
Q: What are you watching during Spring Training?
The most pressing thing I look for is who is healthy.
