누빔생각이 많아 늘 시작이 느린 사람이 매주 하나씩 7일간 실험을 해봅니다. 잘되면 잘된 대로, 망하면 망한 대로. 해본 만큼만 말하는 주간 기록. 주인장 소개: 다르게 살고 싶어서 영국 워홀을 왔지만, 삶이 저절로 바뀌지는 않는다는 걸 깨달았다. 바라는 모습은 많은데 매일 머릿속에서만 굴리다 또 한 해가 갈까 봐 두려웠다. 어설프더라도 매일 하는 작은 실천이 나를 어디로 데려갈지 궁금해졌다.

스크린타임에 지쳐서 일주일 동안 옛날 사람처럼 살아봤다. 앨범을 처음부터 끝까지 듣고, 노트에 필사하고, 촛불도 켜보고.이미 너무 현대인이라 완벽하진 않았지만 숨통은 조금 트인 일주일의 기록.
한 주 동안 런던 대중교통, 길거리, 펍, 알바 현장에서 모르는 사람들의 대화를 엿들어보는 실험을 해봤다. 이야기 채집은 계획대로 흘러가지 않았다. 처음 들은 문장은 fxxx이었고, 지하철 안내방송이 제일 잘 들렸다. 그래도 우연히 하게 된 몇 가지 대화가 끝까지 기억에 남았다.
지원서 결과를 기다리며 하루 종일 책상 앞에 앉아 있던 한 주였다. 몸은 점점 굳어가고, 생각은 자꾸 쓸데없는 방향으로 튈 것 같았다. 그래서 이번에는 마음으로 버티는 대신, 몸으로 한번 막아보기로 했다. 이번 실험은 ‘죽은 엉덩이 소생술’과 ‘좌절 방지 플랭크’.

영국 생활 10개월차, 런던의 비싼 월세를 내면서 정작 집에서는 한국어 영상만 보고 있는 나를 발견했다. 이 정도면 런던에서 한국어 어학연수를 하고 있는 게 아닌가. 이대로는 좀 아니다 싶어서, 일주일 동안 한국어 인풋을 최대한 차단하고 영어만 들으며 지내보는 실험을 해봤다.
