Es ist einfach unglaublich spannend und unterhaltsam. Wie schon bei „becoming the Beatles“ entführt uns der Erzähler zurück in die Zeit der Fab Four. Die Zeitzeugen vermitteln Authentzität und ich bin plötzlich wieder auf dem Gymnasium, wo unser Englisch Lehrer nicht erklären konnte, was ein Paperback Writer sein sollte, wo lange Haare verpönt waren und diese „Beetels mit ihrem je je je“ keine Musik waren. Schon sehr interessant, weil nachvollziehbar wird, wie die Beatles in den Hamburger Jahren zu Weltstars wurden. Aber der Erkenntnis- und Unterhaltungswert wird leider stark eingetrübt, da der Autor viel zu ehrfürchtig auftritt und sich als Fanboy viel zu sehr in den Vordergrund schiebt und bei völlig belanglosen Detailbeschreibungen hängen bleibt. Schade, mit besserem Storytelling wär‘s ein Mega-Podcast. So ist er nur OK.
